Well a lot has happened in the last few days. We had a fantastic concert in Hokitika with a rather interesting afternoon when some of our gear decided to blow up! Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd meet the wonderful Flow who saved the day by loaning us her fantastic PA! We'd also like to extend a huge thanks to Tony who saved our butts for the rest of the tour by fixing our injured amplifier.
It was a truly lovely night in Hoki so thanks to everyone who came along and made the evening a success.
As you can see from the photos, I have a new friend called Betsy the Ukulele! Unfortunately for the boys in the band, they have had to put up with my random plucking for several hours of our journey further north.
The next concert was in one of our all time favourite Kiwi spots; the beloved Mussel Inn in Golden Bay. Every time I go there, I reminisce about the last eighteen years of performing in this wonderful venue. It truly is a second home for many musicians. Unfortunately for us we had to leave at 7am to get the ferry over to the North Island. Luckily for us the boys did not stay up all night sampling the Mussel Inn's liquid delights as the ferry journey has to be one of the most traumatic experiences I have had on the high seas to date. (It was a rather rough crossing)! Fortunately none of us faired too badly and arrived in Carteton a few hours later, safe, well and hungry. This is when we found the best Indian restaurant that we could possibly imagine! Thumbs up to the high street of Carterton!
Looking forward to the concert tonight!
